Whether you’re a limo enthusiast or just someone who appreciates automotive creativity, the world of custom and stretched limousines never stops surprising. From eco-friendly builds to monster truck hybrids, builders around the world continue to push the boundaries of what a limousine can be — and in 2026, that creativity shows no signs of slowing down.

KAZ is an Italian-Japanese joint project to build an electric limousine. Keio Advanced Zero-Emissions vehicle — that’s what KAZ stands for. It took 5 years to build and cost $4 million, but the result is more than impressive: six electric engines powering six wheels, each producing 74 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. The result? Zero to 62 mph in just 7 seconds, a quarter mile in 15 seconds, and a top speed of 193.3 km/h. At a time when EV limousines are finally becoming commercially viable, KAZ was decades ahead of its time. (Photo)

Bonus: What’s New in the World of Wild Limos (2026)
The custom limousine world hasn’t stood still. In recent years, builders have begun experimenting with fully electric stretch platforms — inspired in part by concepts like the KAZ above — as well as luxury van conversions and even armoured SUV stretches. Social media has also played a big role, with one-of-a-kind limo builds going viral and driving demand for ever more outrageous designs. If anything, the bar for “strange” keeps getting higher.
